Christmas & New Year Cheer

Sophie Mayanne photography
I wasn't actually grumpy this Christmas- this picture just turned out like that !
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas (albeit a few days late) and a belated Happy New Year! I am going to Wales to see in the New Year with some old friends.
I made a few new resolutions/goals for 2013 :

1. Make colour my friend- Those of you have followed me for a while will know I primarily work in black and white in my self portraits, but with half of my 365 day project to go (roughly) I think it's high time I made colour my friend. (tell me off if I don't!)

2. Buy a new SLR- I've wanted to own my own new SLR for so long (my one at the moment is second hand and the screen switches off so I can't always see what I'm doing- uhoh) so this year I WILL manage to buy one (overtime here I come..)

3. Blog more frequently to try and post a minimum of two posts a week (with more than one picture!) as I feel sometimes I don't show you all enough of what I am doing!

4. Do more artwork- In my previous 'Splash of Colour- Zines' post I mentioned how for a while I had abandoned drawing and painting (goodness knows why!) so this year I will embrace my arty side and put it to good use !

What are your new years resolutions?

  1. I don't think its much of a resolution but more of a goal, finishing my studies would be on top of my list and will bring on my 365 project and more blogging. :D happy holidays!

enjoy your new years eve :D

  2. I find that my artwork tends to go in cycles--I might be really concentrated on sculpture for a little bit and then completely switch direction and do nothing but illustration for a while. So, if the drawing doesn't come right away don't feel like you gotta force it :)
